CLAYTON BAY HOTEL Junior Suite Room Renovation

One of a Kind in Kure A hotel in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. A shipbuilding dock, where the battleship Yamato was built, and a submarine occasionally navigating in the Seto Inland Sea can be viewed from guest rooms. Various places of the hotel have been renovated over 15 years, under the owner’s firm belief: “freshness is important for hotels.”
The final renovations of all guestrooms executed from 2016 to 2019 were completed. The flagship model, renewed Junior Suite Room, was designed as the grand sum of the renovation.
As a representation of the hotel, the room was designed to have a high-class feel, with a particular focus on the bathroom. The designs of the built-in furniture on the wall—a writing desk, TV stand, and wardrobe—provide a sense of unity, as well as functionality. The bath has a superb view, and the roof terrace is accessible from the room, maintaining a connection to the outside. Our focus was on the provision of a comfortable time for hotel guests. This Junior Suite Room was created as a result of a longstanding relationship of mutual trust.

くれの一点もの 広島県呉市にあるクレイトンベイホテル。客室からは戦艦大和をつくった造船ドックが見え、時間帯によっては瀬戸内海を航行する潜水艦も見ることができる。
「ホテルは鮮度が大切。」というオーナーの強い意志の元、15年にわたり各所改修を続けてきた。2016年から2019年にかけての最後に残った全室客室リニューアルをおこなった。
改修の集大成として完成したフラッグシップモデルのジュニアスイート・リニューアルデザインである。ホテルの顔としてのグレード感の演出はもちろん水回りを充実させ、壁面家具にライティングデスク・TVボード・ワードローブを組み込みデザインの統一と機能性を両立している。ビューバス・ルーフテラスにも出られる設えとし、外部とのつながりも持たせゲストがホテルで快適に過ごす時間を大切に考えた。
長きにわたる信頼関係の中でつくられたジュニアスイートルームである。
