HOTEL FUKURACIA HARUMI

A Place to Learn from the Past, Experiencing Inspiration and Relaxation A repairing project for a 43-year-old building created influenced by Metabolism; a Japanese architectural movement to become a training center hotel. With minimal change to the exterior, the interior had gone through many renovations, resulting in the space to have a slightly deviated impression. Upon the seismic repair, we strived to reconstruct the space without completely changing everything, respecting the original structure, aiming for the past and present to fuse showing the essential beauty of the architecture.

インスピレーションとリラックスを体感する温故知新の場 43年前にメタボリズムという日本の建築運動の思想から生まれた建築物を改修した研修特化型ホテル。外観はほぼ当時のままに、内装は何度も改装を繰り返し、本来の空間の構成から少し逸脱しているように思われた。今回の耐震改修を行う上で、全てを真新しくするのではなく、建設当時の構成を尊重し、建築本来の美しい姿を表に出すことで過去と現在を融合させ空間を再構築することを目指した。
