Born in Toyama, Japan, and raised in a small mountain village nestled in a deep valley. While at university, studied across disciplines including spatial design, furniture, product design, ergonomics, film, and regional revitalization, developing a design perspective informed by cultural studies such as folklore and anthropology.Seeks to understand the relationships between place, people, and culture, and to reveal what is intrinsic to each place.
