Symbolic Community Plaza A school building at the top of a slope with rows of cherry blossom trees extending from the main gate. At this "starting point" of the campus ? a key to the entire campus ? was expressed with a new symbolism by the integration of the interior and landscape. The landscape consists of a symbolic tree and shrubs with various green textures, balancing the symbolic facade with campus life bustle. The interior was required to be comprehensive, accessible, and serviceable as a new platform for students was necessary. In particular, an open ceiling space called the Community Plaza realizes learning and new lifestyles. Taking advantage of the level differences from the landscape outside, various spaces were made by dynamic and clear circulation and zoning.

シンボリックコミュニティプラザ 正門から続く、桜並木の坂の上に位置する校舎。ここはいわば、奥に広がるキャンパスの「起点」にあたる。ここに、今までになかったキャンパス全体の要となる象徴性を建物の内外で表現した。屋外は、建物正面のシンボル性と賑わい性を両立するような、シンボルツリーと多様な緑のテクスチャーの低木帯とした。屋内はわかりやすく、歩き回りやすく、溜まりやすく、使いやすい、という条件を満たし学生の居場所となる新しいプラットホームが必要になった。とくにコミュニティプラザという、学習と新たな生活スタイルを実現する吹き抜け空間では、敷地の外に続く地形の高低差を活かし、ダイナミックかつ明解な動線とゾーニングで変化のある空間を創出した。
